TATA WPL 2024 Retained And Released Player List
The retention window for the TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 season closed on October 15, 2023, with each of the five franchises finalizing their player retention lists. A total of 60 players, which included 21 overseas cricketers, were retained, showcasing the commitment of teams to maintain a core group for the upcoming season.
Conversely, 29 players were released from their existing squads, indicating a shift in team strategies and the opportunity for other players to enter the league through auctions or other selection processes.

WPL 2024 Auction Details
The eagerly awaited TATA Women’s Premier League 2024 Player Auction is just around the corner, scheduled for December 9, 2023, in Mumbai. The auction list boasts a total of 165 cricketers who will vie for spots in the league’s second edition.
Among the players in the auction pool, 104 are Indian cricketers, while 61 hail from overseas, including 15 players from associate nations. The diversity in the player lineup adds an international flavor to the auction.
The auction will feature 56 capped players and 109 uncapped players, providing a platform for emerging talents to make their mark alongside established names in women’s cricket. With a maximum of 30 slots available across the five teams, including 9 spots reserved for overseas players, the auction promises intense bidding battles for the available positions.
Deandra Dottin and Kim Garth have set the bar high, with both players opting for the highest reserve price of INR 50 Lakhs. Additionally, four players have placed themselves in the auction with a base price of INR 40 Lakhs, adding an extra layer of excitement to the bidding process.
