KL Rahul, the captain of the Indian cricket team, shared his happiness about being with the team. He expressed joy in returning to the cricket field after a disappointing World Cup. Having played with many teammates in the IPL, he found it special to play with them again. Rahul’s usual message to the team is to enjoy the game, give their best, and not worry about the rest.

Acknowledging that some players haven’t had much international experience, Rahul emphasized the importance of giving them time to adjust and making their roles clear. He appreciated the team’s effort, noting that everyone gave their 100%. Rahul also praised Sanju, who has been outstanding in the IPL, despite not getting many chances at the top of the order for various reasons. He was happy to see Sanju perform well in the recent game

Arshdeep Singh, named Player of the Series, discussed the challenging pitch conditions and the team’s strategy to focus on bowling wicket-to-wicket. He credited the IPL for providing a valuable platform for young players like him to bridge the gap between IPL and international cricket.

Sanju Samson, the Player of the Match, expressed his pride in the achievement, especially considering the final result. He highlighted the hard work put in over not just the past couple of months but a longer period, which made the victory even more satisfying.

Samson talked about the benefits of this format, providing extra time to understand the pitch and the bowler’s mindset. Batting at the top of the order also gives you more deliveries to face, which he sees as an advantage.

He commended Tilak Verma for stepping up and mentioned that there’s more to expect from him in the future. Samson acknowledged the high standards set by the senior players in Indian cricket, and he appreciated how the junior players are rising to the occasion. Despite the challenges of frequent travel and playing every 2-3 days, he noted that the team is getting the job done

South Africa captain Aiden Makram admitted that despite their enthusiasm in the series decider, they couldn’t maintain momentum long enough. He felt the target of 290 was chaseable but acknowledged the team’s inconsistency. Looking ahead to the Test series, he expressed excitement about playing in two great venues in South Africa.
